[Universal Character Set]

a standard numeric character encoding, defined by by International Standard ISO/IEC 10646, commonly considered to be equivalent to and interchangeable with Unicode.

UCS-2

a standard data encoding of a subset of UCS using 2-byte, 16-bit code units.

UCS-4

a standard data encoding of UCS using 4-byte, 32-bit code units.
